Chillispot authentication issue

Hi Guys,

We have a problem with a network install we use chilli for. The problem is that we have a fully routed network with a PXE box which has chilli installed. When we use a machine on one end of the network, it doesn't get an IP from chilli because it gets the MAC address of the router that's in the middle and it breaks down.

When we plug a computer directly to the PXE machine, no problem, MAC address from the device is authenticated by chilli and device gets an IP address. Since authentication appears to happen on Layer2 instead of Layer3, the router is causing all sorts of issues. Is there a work-around for this?

Thanks.

Re: Chillispot authentication issue

You either bridge/tunnel the network or put chilli closer to the edge... it does indeed require layer 2 subscribers.
