How do I add access points?

Once you have configured the access point with your own shared secret, the first time you, the owner, logs in, the access point will be linked to you and will appear in the portal.

Should I use my username and password for the "admin" user in my chilli config?

No. It will not do anything. You will soon be able to configure your chilli access controller centrally, using RADIUS, but it will not use your coova.org account credentials.

Some sessions do not show time and data usage, why?

Most, if not all, commercial WPA Enterprise routers for the home do not support RADIUS accounting. As such, the back-end does not know what happens after authentication. (note: the current portal version does not show the authentication time for these sessions either, fixed in next release).

For certain routers, using CoovaAP firmware may be an option. Using CoovaChilli, RADIUS accounting is provided for WPA Enterprise sessions in addition to captive portal authentication.

What browser should I use for the portal?

Firefox is the preferred browser. There is an issue with Safari and the Google Maps in the Manage application (based on gwt - google web toolkit).
