Using CoovaAAA with the Mac OS X Client

Mac OS X has an excellent 802.1X client built-in. When you try to associate with a secure network, it will automatically prompt you to try a username and password. But, it is also easily configured by hand and you can create permanent profiles for your network(s). Here is how. First, get into Internet Connect by turning on your WiFi and select it in the tray menu.

In Internet Connect, if you do not already have the 802.1X tab as shown here, then under the File main menu, select New 802.1X Connection... (or shortcut Shift-Apple-X). In this window, set your coova.org username and password and select the correct wireless network. Click Connect'.

The first time you log-in, you may be prompted with this security warning. You can hit Continue, but you will get this warning the next time too. Or, you click on Show Certificate.

Click the box next to Always trust these certificates (under the picture of the lock) and then click Continue. This will ensure that you are not bothered by the warning and authentication will happen more smoothly.
