Using CoovaAAA with WPA/WPA2 Routers
Setting up your WiFi router is easy if it supports WPA Enterprise or WPA2 Enterprise. The only information you need is your RADIUS Server Address and Shared Secret assigned to you. You will find this information in the Coova.org portal.
To setup your WiFi router itself, refer to the manual on how to setup WPA Enterprise or WPA2 Enterprise. You may also find more inforamtion on your specific router.
Every router's configuration is a bit different, but generally the same. Below we show an example configuration using a Linksys router. The only settings required to use Coova.org are under the Wireless Security section of the Wireless main menu.
This router has the following possible security modes: Disabled, WPA Personal, WPA Enterprise, WPA2 Personal, WPA2 Enterprise, RADIUS, or WEP; where only the options compatible with Coova.org services and provide the highest level of wireless security are in bold.
In the sample above, WPA Enterprise is being used with the TKIP WPA algorithm. Whether you select WPA Enterprise or WPA2 Enterprise, it does not matter to Coova.org. Neither does what WPA Algorithm you select. Pick whatever works the best with your WiFi devices. The important part is getting the RADIUS Server Address and Shared Secret set to the correct values for your Coova.org account.
Once your router is configured, simply log in to your network using your favorite WiFi WPA client and your Coova.org username and password. Once you log in the first time with your account, the router will be associated with you and will appear in your Coova.org portal.
You are ready to use and share!
