Setting up CoovaAP to talk to FreeRadius and mySQL
Now that you've flashed your router with the CoovaAP Firmware it's time to start configuring the settings for your setup.
Coova does most of the work for you, so there is nothing too complex to setup.
[edit]
Step One
First we need to setup the first parts of our configuration:
- Use the Chillispot UAM
- You can use Wireless only or both (Wireless only is helpful for debugging)
- Disable Auto Configuration (while it's good, you can fine tune things without it)
- UAM Hostname (this is where your login page is)
- UAM Secret (this is the passphrase used between Chilli and your login page)
- NAS Identifier (this should already be filled - your MAC address of the router)
Important: Save on each page.

Step Two
Check the DHCP settings meet your requirements. I discovered that I needed to change my DHCP settings as I was using DHCP for my Internet connection (from a DSL router), which caused CPU time of about 7.50 because it couldn't get access to the Internet (Coova-Chilli runs checks before it starts, such as resolving DNS entries for your walled-garden).

Step Three
Next is setting up your RADIUS configuration.
